I was ill and had done everything I knew how to do as a physician.
I felt that I was going to die and had no idea how to overcome this feeling. It was then that I met a Reiki Master. In the very first session I felt that my soul was saved and I experienced a life-altering spiritual awakening.

Reiki is God-given or Universal energy that is healing. It is the biblical laying on of hands. A person who has been attuned to receive the energy transmits it to another person with their permission. The Creator/God chooses how the energy is best used so it is always in the person's highest interest. One does not need to believe in Reiki for it to work - one merely gives permission and allows it to be received. Healing energy from Reiki can address problems on many levels - spiritual, physical, emotional, and energy levels – sometimes all of these in a single session. As both physician and patient I can attest that energy medicine is the single most powerful healing modality for chronic illness.

Reiki sessions generally last 40 minutes. Some practitioners lays on hands on the body (note that this is not a massage) and other practitioners can beam the reiki energy through their hands. Having a reiki session does not attune one to transmit the healing energies; to do this classes and a formal attunement are required.

There are over 20 different kinds of Reiki with the most common being Usui Reiki. There is also Karuna reiki, Sekkim-Sekhem reiki, Maori reiki, other forms of Shamanic reiki, and reiki with Angels - to name but a few.
Many practitioners are attuned to more than one kind of reiki; the frequency transmitted is the one most in need by the recipient.
