About Dr. Solomon
Susan Solomon, MD
Dr. Susan Solomon is a Board certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist who was conventionally trained at Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha, NE.  She completed her residency training at  Bronx Municipal Hospital Center in New York City.  After fifteen years of private practice, it became apparent  to her that allopathic medicine is incapable of addressing the needs of many patients.

Dr. Solomon completed  training with the Institute of Functional Medicine whose philosophy focuses on the  unique requirements of the individual, taking into account genetic, environmental and psychological factors.  For six years Dr. Solomon practiced alternative, integrative and holistic medicine with a strong emphasis on nutrition.  Celiac disease and gluten sensitivity were a large component of that practice along with adrenal fatigue.

All diseases manifest in the physical body but without addressing the mind and the soul, healing cannot happen.     As Maimonides said, all diseases are diseases of the soul.

In November 2004 Dr. Solomon had a spiritual awakening that catapulted her training to include Energy Medicine modalities, including Reiki.  Dr. Solomon is a Reiki Master having studied Reiki with Angels under Ellen Mahloy. The public needs to know that there are many more healing therapies than are currently taught to medical students in the United States.  These modalities range from acupuncture to homeopathy, from crystal therapy to flower essences, from guided music imagery to light therapy just to mention a few.   What works is what works for that particular patient.  For some patients that may include past life regression, hypnotherapy, a soul retrieval or a spiritual exorcism.   Deep down most patients are  aware of why they are sick and what they need to help them heal.

In November 2007 Dr. Solomon received Board Certification with the American Board of Holistic Medicine (ABHM).   According to ABHM Holism implies a " pre-existing system of nature.  Integration is the process of creation in which the pieces are assembled to create the whole."  An integrative practitioner uses multiple treatment and has knowledge of other treatments that exist and can refer patients to other practitioners for those treatments.  "A holistic practitioner has many skills as well as great intellectucal capacity, but uses them "with heart, compassion and a sense of connection with nature and spirit.  Holism, therefore, is a personal path toward this life of connection. The holistic physician must therefore be an integrative practitioner and personally integrated as well."

Integrative Holistic Medicine then becomes  the art and science of healing that addresses the care of the whole person - body, mind and spirit.

The philosophy that we are each unique is the basis for her practice of medicine.  In the absence of divine intervention, the choice of which methods to apply is purely guesswork.

The essence of Dr. Solomon's practice is to empower each patient so that they heal themselves.
